Orange and Gold Sqaure Off in High Scoring Affair
Hockey fans may have paid for a full seat this morning at Tony Rose A rink, but with the phenomenal end-to-end action between Orange and Gold, they only ever used the edge.
Team Orange leapt out to an early lead as rookie goaltender Ty Mulder played his heart out with diving and dazzling saves. The back and forth energy ignited both benches, and when combined with the sounds of AC/DC's "Back in Black," a few of these youngsters found their moves on the ice spilling over into moves on the bench too.
Orange's phenomenal play up the boards continued in their own end with rock-steady play from Sanderson, Thornington, Drost, and Amaral - under the watchful eye of coach Tremblay. The forwards peppered the Gold goaltender as Orange took a 5:4 lead into the third period. But Gold roared back with 5 goals in the third ending the game in a 9:7 win.
With two games remaining until the break, Orange will keep working hard to bring their skill and work ethic to the rink and end the first half of the season in the same thrilling fashion they started it.
