2024/2025 Prep Skate & Tryout Schedules:
Prep Skates for U10-U18 players will be held starting April 7, 2024. Packages are $20.00 for each skate. Please ensure you sign up for the skate based on your players age category for the 2024/2025 season.

What are Prep Skates?
As part of the OHF and Hockey Canada Pathways mandate, four practice/skills sessions are required prior to any evaluations. Players are grouped by like skill and provided an opportunity to get back in their blades in advance of their season ahead.
Sessions are focused on skills, skating, agility, balance, puck control small area games and getting back to hockey. These skates are NOT evaluations and players will not be graded during these sessions.
These sessions are required for our organization to offer but optional for players to attend. We recommend all players consider attending to optimize the program goals outlined by Hockey Canada. You can read more about the player pathways on the OMHA website.
Session Details:
- To ensure we can plan for facility capacities sessions can be purchased individually;
- Prep skates will be run by Tyler Randell Elite Hockey;
- Players will register based on their birth year.
Orangeville Minor Hockey will be hosting the following Spring Evaluations starting May 1, 2024:
- AA/A/BB U10-U18 Starting May 1, 2024
- U8 & U9 MD Team Prep Skates/Evaluations Starting after labour day September, 2024
Tryout Highlights Include:
· NRP’s guaranteed minimum two skates (Must bring signed NRP form and payment/sign in is at the registration desk not on HCR)
· Goalie Evaluation Skates run by Blue Ice Goalie Development with additional independent goalie evaluators provided;
· Exhibition Games planned for both AA and A age groups;

How to Find My Tryout Status?
Please visit your team/division webpage by clicking on the age group and category menu (ie U10AA) then select the "Tryout List" tab from the menu. Tryout status will be posted, you will need to check your tryout number and review your players status once posted.
