We played 2 Games this weekend, the first game was an early Saturday morning match against Brampton Black. The boys worked hard early on and took the lead after Connor (Assist Luke & Ethan) put it behind the Brampton goalie to make it 1-0. We were a little sluggish in the second and let Brampton outwork us, they scored to quick goals to make it 2-1 but shortly after Owen V. rushed up the ice to create a scoring chance that resulted in a rebound, Brent (assist Owen V) was then able to put in. It was 2 -2 at this point and appeared to be an even game, with about 2 minutes left in the second a Brampton player took a shot from just below the blue line it deflected off one of our players and found it to the back of our net to make it 3-2 Brampton, the boys were unable to recover and and we eventually lost 5-2.

We visited the TNT Tornadoes for the first time this year in our second game of the weekend. TNT opened the scoring with about 5 minutes left in the first. They made it 2 - 0 halfway through the second. Owen V (Assist Brent and Johnny ) scored shortly after to make it 2-1, TNT continued to pressure us and scored to more goals to make it 4-1 going into the third. I told the boys I wanted to see a better effort in the third as they capable of much more then we saw in the first two periods. Ted was able to keep us within striking distance early in the third with some nice saves. The kids responded with a solid effort, Brent (assist Owen V and Aiden) made it 4-2 with just under 7 minutes to go, our boys then started  to pressure TNT and created further scoring chances, Graydon put in a great effort deep in the offensive zone, he passed it to Luke (assist Graydon and Connor) who buried past the goalie to make it 4-3 with 3 minutes to go. A few seconds later TNT had control of the puck in our zone, Luke pressured their defender and was able to grab a loose puck, he came in on a breakaway but was not able to put it past the goalie, TNT took the win but it was encouraging to see the boys fight back in the third to make a game of it. Owen V and Evan were given players of the game.
