Black Attacks in Thrilling Finish
After an uncharacteristically flat couple of periods, Team Black dug in and showed their moxie with a tremendous effort to come back and earn the tie against the Green Team earlier today. This was the kind of effort that can redefine a team, build confidence, and launch them into continued success.
Veteran goaltender Kenton Wagstaff once again stood tall and aggressively cut down the angles on Green's toughest shooters, holding his team in the game when they most needed it. That paved the way for the thrilling final minutes as Rideout tucked one in with a wraparound to bring the game to within 2. With just 90 seconds on the clock Wagstaff headed to the bench, and Black's extra attacker took to the ice. Upstart winger Owen Young did it again and was able to get one past the Green goalie as the crowd and bench was on their feet, stopping the clock at 41.8. Then, with 33 seconds remaining on the clock, centreman Taylor potted his second of the game further igniting the crowd and his team to seal the comeback and tie.
What a great come from behind effort. Black is sure to carry that momentum forward into next weekend as they face off against the always challenging Team Tan on Sunday at 11am, Tony Rose A.
