Team Black Turns It Up a Notch
The Atom division once again showed their legions of adoring fans where to watch the best hockey in town as Team Black took to the ice to face a newly determined Team Yellow this morning at Tony Rose A rink. The tension mounted with expectations high as these two talented young squads came prepared to tear the ice up.
Black's goaltending phenom Wagstaff, intimidated Yellow shooters with his patented textbook positioning. As always, this seemed to provide the boost and confidence for the rest of the team to execute with laser-like precision. The impenetrable defense and solid play in their own zone never gave Yellow the room they needed. With that cue, Cundari lit the lamp mid-way through the first proving that every shot on goal is a good shot.
Yellow evened the score late in the second, setting the stage for Black to take their game to the next level. As the puck dropped, Rogan (from Fowler) raced into the offensive zone and ripped one past the Yellow netminder just 12 seconds into the third. 3 minutes later, centreman Dunford fired up his rocket skates for an unassisted goal on a breakaway. Then late in the third Blakeley (from Brett) shelfed a brilliant backhander over the blocker to seal the win.
Team Black will focus their time this week on continuing their off-ice excellence and will be ready to bring the thunder next Sunday at 11am. Don't miss it.
