Black and White Battle to a Stalemate
Team White showed up determined to even the season series against Black this morning at Tony Rose A rink. These two extraordinary teams faced each other in the first outing of the year and both were ready to show the other just how far they've come in the past 5 weeks.
Black stepped out to the lead with a late first period goal from centreman Rogan, but White roared back with a quick one to end the first period tied at 1 apiece. White was unrelenting as they pressed hard on the forecheck. Wagstaff continued to shine in goal for Team Black turning away chance after chance. Taylor helped to end the second period in a tie netting one with 3:55 left on the clock.
That set the stage for tremendous play in the third, as White jumped out to an early lead. Black continued to dig, and put pressure on White eventually ending up with a great chance for Clement, who ripped one past the White netminder to end the game in a well-earned tie.
Black brings their exciting brand of hockey to the ice again next Sunday against the always challenging Team Yellow.
