Richard Bell Memorial Tournament
The Orangeville Flyers Minor Peewee AA team headed to Oakville over the holidays to participate in the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament.
On December 28th, they won 3-1 over the West Hill Golden Hawks and 11-4 over the Mississauga Jets. December 29th saw match-ups against the Uxbridge Stars 5-3 and a 4-4 tie against the Humberview Huskies. After the round robin, they finished first in the their pool, third out of sixteen teams.December 30th featured an early morning rematch against the Huskies and the Flyers won 4-2, advancing to the semi-finals. Their opponent was the Mississauga Braves, who finished second overall after the round robin. They proved to be a tough team to beat and although our boys fought valiantly until the final buzzer to advance, they fell 6-3. The Braves would go on to win the tournament in the final game against the Oakville Rangers 2-1.
