Orange and Red Light up Alder Green
As the fans took their seats, bursting with anticipation for the drop of the puck, Orange and Red were going over their last minute adjustments so they could hit the ice and flat out bring it! And that's exactly what Orange did as they roared to an early lead with veteran defenseman Nolan Sanderson netting one on the very first shift.
Orange continued to press hard as they game wore on - showcasing their signature defensive play in moving the puck hard up the boards out of their own end. The relentless pressure kept Red deep in their own zone as Braxtton Barnett ripped 4 goals past the Red netminder. With Bryson Drost looking like Partrick Roy in net, Orange was able to buckle down even more headed into the third period and extend the lead as Kyle MacDonald poured in one more.
Orange's urgent skating style made it seem like they were being chased by a grizzly bear the whole game, and it paid off. Keveryga showed that he's got lots of game today as did the rest of the squad including Wylie and Mulder.
Watch for Orange in the Halloween Classic next Saturday at 12:30 against Gold on the Alder Green rink. These boys might look young, but they play with old school heart.
Go Orange Go!!!
