FAQS – CANCELLATION OF HOCKEY ACTIVITIES
ANSWERING THE IMMEDIATE QUESTIONS FROM PARENTS

As we continue to monitor the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) closely, our main priority is the safety and well being of everyone involved in our game. A resource page (OMHA.net/COVID-19) has been created that will be continually be updated with new information. We have created a list of answers to some frequently asked questions from our membership.

Wishing you good health and safety while we work together to get through this difficult time. Further information will be communicated when it is available. 

What types of activities fall under this cancellation?
All on-ice and off-ice activities are cancelled including OMHA Championships, League Championships, practices, games, tournaments, clinics, AGMs, end of year banquets and any other team gatherings.

Will Championships and any other games during the season be played?
Unfortunately, the 2019-20 season is cancelled.

My team was in the Finals of OMHA Playdowns presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario. Will we still get #RedHats, medals and banners?
This is still being determined.

What is the timeline for spring tryouts?
Tryouts for the 2020-21 season will not be conducted this spring. 
The timelines for tryouts will be determined at a later date and communicated to Associations as emerging information becomes available. 

My team signed up for a tournament. Can we get our money back?
The OMHA will reimburse any tournament sanction fees to host Associations and team travel permit fees. Associations/teams will need to contact the tournament organizer for specific refund information.

Will we be receiving any refunds from our Associations for the cancelling of the season?
It is up to each Association to decide if/how this will be administered.

The OMHA has created a resource page (OMHA.net/COVID-19) which will be continually updated with new information that is distributed to our membership.
