The Minor Atom AE Flyers have struck gold in their first tournament of the season. After posting a 7-1 win over Centre -Wellington and a 8-0 victory over Georgina, the Flyers were downed 3-2 by Milton in the third round robin game. Needing a victory over Vaughan in order to qualify for the championship final, the Flyers stormed to a 9-2 victory. In a rematch with Milton in the final, the Flyers got a quick 2-0 lead in the first period. With relentless forechecking and backchecking, the Flyers dominated the play and cruised to a 2-0 shutout win.
