Meeting with the Town of Orangeville Council
Good evening members of Orangeville Minor Hockey,

I thought we should inform all of our members what is happening this week with Orangeville Minor Hockey. OMH along with Skate Canada and Tigers Hockey are all in agreement and have collectively done this together.

On Wednesday February 17, 2021 the executive will be having a zoom meeting with Town Council. The meeting is to answer questions that the Councilors may have.

We are asking the Town to reduce our ice costs for the remainder of the season. This will help off set some of our costs. We are not asking the Town to pay for our program, we are asking the Town to reduce our hourly price. Our hope is to come out of the meeting on Wednesday so the Town isn't going to lose money and we get a reduction of the hourly rate.

I am sure some of you are asking, what happened to our money that we paid when we registered our children. The answer is simple, we collected the registration fees and had no idea how long or what stages we would be in throughout the season. We went from 10 players on the ice to 25, then back to 10 and then to none.

Having 10 players on the ice has made our ice time fees out of reach. We didn't nor couldn't budget for the unknown and that is why we are asking the Town for assistance.

I will let everyone know the outcome.

Thank you,

Rick Stevens
