Renting ice over the Holidays
The Town's process ti renting ice over the Holidays

Please note below the process for renting Ice with the Town of Orangeville. This is considered private rentals and will not be addressed as a Minor Hockey booking. There will be NO bookings through Orangeville Minor Hockey.

Private ice-time bookings will be available for groups up to a maximum of 10 people total, and will require pre-screening of attendees and insurance requirements as outlined by the Town. A minimum of 72 hours is required for an ice-time booking request and is based on facility availability. A 50 min. ice time will be allowed per booking. Private rentals for hockey skills are not considered an organized sport sanctioned activity therefore a maximum attendance of 10 allowed and NO spectators.

Renters will be allowed in the facility 10 minutes prior to the rental and must vacate 10 minutes after the rental. It is recommended to come dressed and prepared to go on the ice within these time frames and vacate after the rental.

Attached is the “Requirements/Protocol for Private Ice-rentals from December 19 to January 3” that has the information that we require and what you need to review and sign. This must be returned to [email protected] prior to the rental.

The following is the ice cost per 50 minutes $116.73 + HST. Insurance costs vary depending on the activity so you will need to give detail as to what you will be doing. The cost can then be determined as to the activity from the third party insurance provider and a cost will be forwarded to you.

If you do not have a personal account with us, you will be required to set up one up prior to booking. The rental must be paid on-line therefore a credit card (visa or MasterCard) will need to be added to the account under the “Finance” section.

We will require the following information first/last name, full address and requested date/time, on ice activity (i.e. rec. skate, hockey skills). We have limited ice, so times requested may not be accommodated but we will advise what is available.

A contract will be prepared and sent electronically for signature and must be returned 24 hours prior to the rental.

We are offering drop in skates to residents over the holidays if you are interested in attending. You can check them out at www.orangeville.ca under drop in programs. If you would like to attend a drop in skate you would be required to have an account set up to register and pay on-line. The registration for drop-in programs opens up 75 hours prior to the start time of the program.
