Minor Novice (2012) Select Team Tryout **REVISED**

Minor Novice Select Try-Outs for 2019/2020 Season REVISED Sept 3 2019

What is Happening?

·         Our Minor Novice program will be offering a Select team for the 2019/2020 season. 

When is the Tryouts?

  • September 7, 2019 @2:00pm Alder Arena -Red Rink
  • September 8, 2019 @ 2:00pm Tony Rose A Rink **Note changed from Alder**
  • September 11, 2019 @ 6:00pm at Alder Red

Tryout Cost:

·         Assessments/Tryouts will be offered to players at cost of $20.00 please make payments online with your registration;

·         Players much be registered with Orangeville Minor Hockey in order to participate

Team Selection Details:

·         The team will be selected via an assessment/tryout process and will consist of 18 players;

Underage Players:

·         Players born in 2013 are eligible to participate for consideration. Please note players must be evaluated in the top three of the group in order to be considered for the team.  Coaches will validate their decisions and selections of underage players will be in consultation with the Orangeville Minor Hockey Executive.

What is Minor Novice Select?

·         This program is separate program stream to our existing Minor Novice House League Program and will offer advance skill development for those players seeking a more competitive stream of hockey;

·         This team is Residency Restricted. Please contact the office if you reside outside of Orangeville to see if eligible;

·         This program will adhere to the new Hockey Canada Minor Novice Development Model;

·         Players who participate in the Select program will not participate in the HL program. The two programs will operate in parallel, with the Select program providing advanced skill development opportunities at a more competitive level;

·         The Select team will participate in the Tri-County scheduled programming and will require travel (ie Caledon, Milton, Woolwich, Centre Wellington, Brampton)

·         Teams will be placed into “Pods” with teams of like skills to ensure competition is aligned for the season.  Details of the groupings will be released in the coming weeks;

·         This program will require additional costs over and above HL registration. Budgets will be communicated by your coach at the assessment/tryouts.
