Peewee MD year in review
Strathroy AE Olympics
The boys played a level up and came within one point of making the final. We ended up losing to the host team in the consolation final.
We played some strong teams in this tourney, in the round robin we were leading tournament winner Hespler with about 1 minute to go, the boys had some pressure in the offensive zone when a Hespler D-Man shot the puck out, it took a strange bounce off the boards, A Hespler player came in on a breakaway & scored to tie it up, we ended up losing in O.T, regardless a great game, the Hespler coach talked to our coaching staff afterwords & had great things to say about our team.
We played Strathroy twice in this tournament losing 2-1 & 3-0, Strathroy was another very strong opponent, they went on to win the OMHA AE3 division & the International Silver Stick.
Marshall Drewnowsky Memorial Select Tournament, Vaughan
This was a 12 team GTHL Red tournament, again we played some strong teams, the boys finished first place in our division and second overall after the round robin.
We played Applewood Coyotes in the semis, It was tied late in the game, Graham hit the post almost giving us the win. We went to O.T and Applewood scored midway through the first period to take the win. Applewood was another strong team, they went on to win the MHL regular season going 12-1, they ended up third in their playoffs.
Another good showing from the boys.
Orangeville Winter Classic MD/RS
The boys took the consolation final against a solid Whitby team, well done !
Intra City Regular Season
The boys dominated the regular season going 10-4-2
We were second in goals for and first in goals against ..... the closest team to us had 13 more goals against in 16 games, great Job !
Intra City Playoffs
Overall it was a good playoffs, we dominated some of our games early on but had some trouble scoring, we probably deserved better but that's just the way things go sometimes. We ended up 3rd out of 6 teams.
