Sandhill Holdings playoffs week 5 review

Just a friendly reminder, we have a practice at Alder Red this Friday at 5 pm and a game vs. Milton at 5:40 pm in John Tonelli arena on Sunday.

The boys played 1 game this past weekend ... details on next page ....

Week 5 vs. Bears, 1-1 tie, The boys continue to play well, we were aggressive early into this game and it payed off as we scored within minutes. We controlled the play for most of the first half of the game , we created a few scoring chances but were unable to increase our lead. The Bears scored midway through the third to tie the game up. Overall a good performance from all the players, I though we laid off and sat on the lead the last half of the game, I would like to see the boys continue to play hard for all 3 periods. Ted was not that busy but made some key saves to salvage the tie. Jacob had one of his better games of the season and was given game MVP.

Coaches thoughts half way through playoffs.

We have been the better team in all 5 games, we probably deserve all 10 points but have been snake bitten in front of the net, we are playing well defensively with a very low goals against in the playoffs. (7 goals against in 5 games ), we will continue to work on ways to create more opportunities for the boys to score.

Current standings:

Marlies 9 points in 5 games
Milton  8 points in 5 games
Bulldogs 6 points in 5 games
Orangeville 5 points in 5 games
Caledon 1 point in 5 games
Bears 1 point in 5 games
