Well hockey fans Team Yellow kicked off its playoff run
today with a dominant performance against the Green Team.
Although Team Yellow had closed out the regular season with a few losses it was obvious to the coaches and spectators alike that the team was improving with every game. Team Yellow came charging out and took control of the game and never looked back. Leading the charge was our player of the game, Dylan, who back-checked and fore-checked like there was no tomorrow and netted a goal for his efforts. Meanwhile, Davis “the sniper” Pipher came streaking down the right wing and roofed a beauty rebound in the second period. Our two centres, Drew and Owen, put on a goal-scoring clinic with a hat trick each. On the wings Cameron, Christian and Tommy played a solid two-way game creating scoring chances and clearing the puck out of our zone. Garrett’s hard work along the boards generated some great scoring chances in the offensive zone. Back in our end the defensive pair of Joey G and Bronson consistently foiled the Green attack. Likewise, Jada and Joey N completely shutdown Team Green’s offence with a fine display of defensive skill. As always, our star between the pipes, Reed, kept the opponent to just one goal. Undoubtedly, Team Yellow’s victory is a result of hard work and determination but it’s also undeniable that our injured player Eric’s presence on the bench brought us luck. Great game everyone.
See you at the rink!
