2016 Continues to
Shine on Team Yellow
Right out of the gate Team Yellow came out
flying with speed and confidence that has defined the team since the Christmas
break.
Team Yellow jumped to a 4 -0 lead and never looked back against Team White. This week the scoring was spread out amongst our forwards. Owen Hambly kept his scoring streak alive with a goal while Tommy “Boom Boom” Lomas banged in a rebound for his second goal of the year. Drew Roper found his scoring touch this week when he fired a beauty wrist shot that was too much for the Team White goalie. After a few shifts on defense Eric Rogan moved up to wing and found the back of the net. Cameron Easton played another solid game at centre while Christian, Garrett, Davis and Dylan contributed to the team effort with a tenacious fore check and excellent positional play in our zone. Our goalie Reed showed his teammates he will stop at nothing to keep the puck out of the net including a soccer style save with his head. On defense our player of the game, Joey Gumulka, decided to demonstrate why Bobby Orr is his favourite player with a couple of end-to-end rushes while his partner Bronson held the fort. The Team was pleased to have Joey Nalli back with his Mexican tan and take no prisoners play and, as always, the graceful Jada Kosowan did her part keeping the opponent off the scoreboard and jumping into the rush.
