Undefeated
Team Yellow kept its undefeated record for 2016
alive when it skated to a 2 -2 draw against Team Red on January 10.
Team Yellow fell behind early conceding a goal in the first period but it wasn’t long before Owen Hambly responded for Team Yellow with one of his two goals in the game. Once again Reed Ottaway was solid in goal for Team Yellow stopping many quality shots including a couple of breakaways. In front of Reed our defense did their part by clearing the puck out from in front of our net and up the boards. Eric Rogan was called on again to pair up with Jada to shore up the defense. As usual, Joey G and Bronson made short work of opponent’s attack. Tommy, Christian, Davis, Cameron, and Dylan skated their lanes on wing with gusto. Their efforts on the back-check kept the score close while creating chances in the offensive zone. At centre, Drew Roper came so close to potting his first for 2016 on a break away. Our player of the game, Garrett, skated like there was no tomorrow. He contributed at both ends of the rink including his demonstration of how to receive a torpedo pass right up the middle of the ice that resulted in a great scoring chance. Be sure to get to the rink early next week fans as Team Yellow puts its steak on the line against Team White at 10:00 a.m.
