Green Machine and Royal Rumble for the Championship
Orangeville hockey fans were treated to phenomenal hockey action in the Minor Tyke Division in this morning's championship game. Today was Green versus Royal, a classic match-up that brought out the best from both sides.
The boys in Green came out flying early and peppered the Royal netminder with shot after shot. James Brady was steady as ever in net for Green, giving the boys the confidence they needed to dig deep and come from behind to tie the game twice. Although not reflected in the final score, today was Green's day and The Machine saved their best effort for this final game of the season. It could not have been a more exciting game.
This intrepid reporter has covered a lot of hockey in his day, but this Green team was truly something special - all smiles and hard work - and they finished this season exactly that way. That is something they should be extremely proud of.
