Green Machine Earns Spot in Semi-Finals
What a great weekend of hockey in the Minor Tyke Division. The Green Machine came ready to play and eked out two nail biting victories to secure second place through the round robin of the playoffs.
Saturday's game versus Gold was another goaltending clinic put on by James Brady who has now clearly earned the spot as the team's #1 netminder. As Brady stopped pucks at one end, the rest of the squad poured it on at the other - peppering the Gold goal with shots. In the end, Green's blazing speed proved to be just a little too much for Gold to handle.
Sunday's tilt against Red was one of the most exciting games of Minor Tyke hockey you will ever see. The Green Machine's backchecking broke up many late surges as goalie Jayden Hancock shut down Red, ​sealing the victory after a tremendous comeback.
The Green Machine heads back to Prime Time on Friday night at Alder for a 6pm game versus Gold to determine who will face Royal Blue in the Championship game Saturday morning. The action is sure to be fun and fierce with both sides vying for the coveted spot in the final.
