Green Machine and Royal Rock The Minor Tyke Division
Saturday afternoon was a special day for hockey in the Minor Tyke Division. Team Royal carried a slight edge in the season series versus Green, up 3 to 2 heading into their playoff duel. James Brady returned in net for Green and put on an epic performance for The Machine. His kick save with the right pad in the First period was as good as it gets.
Royal came out quick but The Green Machine refused to give in. As Green pushed harder Royal answered with stellar defensive play - hanging off Green's players like Christmas ornaments and denying chance after chance. The boys in Green never let down and mounted a great surge in the Third that almost brought them all the way back. Then in typical Green Machine style, they smiled their way off the ice with charismatic swagger and a great attitude.
The Machine's next playoff game is on March 21st at 3pm versus Team Gold. Their top secret dryland training regimen over the next few weeks will have them more ready than ever.
