Green and Gold - Showdown in the Cold
The Minor Tyke division revisited the legendarily cold confines of Tony Rose B this afternoon. But two squads quickly turned up the heat - as the Green Machine and Gold revved up their play to ignite the frozen crowd.
With Bishop Burman taking his first turn in the net for Green, the boys played with the kind of confidence that only comes from hot goaltending. Rawn, Miller, and Tipping peppered the Gold goalie and the rest of the Machine fired themselves up even more following Rowntree's early departure.
The overhead heaters for the spectators could've shut down at any time as the outstanding play of Green radiated outward across the frigid rink. Green's gritty determination was highlighted in the number of times they fought back from being down throughout the first half of the game, but heading into the 3rd, the Green Machine never looked back.
Green takes on White next Saturday. Let's see if they can keep this level of play up with only a few weeks remaining in the regular season before the playoff run.
