Atom AA's Repeat Champions in Richmond Hill
The Orangeville Atom AA Flyers have tasted some early season success.  The young squad travelled to Richmond Hill September 5th to 8th to participate in the Stars early bird tournament and have again returned with the championship hardware.

Outstanding goaltending efforts along with stellar defensive play were a catalyst to the Flyers finishing round robin play in first place with a perfect 4-0 record, including three consecutive shutout victories.  Orangeville posted wins over the Richmond Hill Stars, Toronto East Ender Ti-Cats, Vaughan Rangers and the North York Knights.

In the semi-final, Orangeville faced off against the Scarborough Bruins.  The Bruins came out hard and tried to slow the skilled offensive play of Orangeville's forwards with physical play.  The teams traded goals throughout the match with Scarborough scoring late in the third period to send the game into overtime. Orangeville was undaunted, dominating the extra session to post a 5-4 victory to secure their spot in the final.  In the championship game, the Flyers squared off against the also undefeated West Hill Golden Hawks. Orangeville built a 3-1 lead before holding off a hard charging West Hill squad and went on to a 3-2 victory.
