U7 & U4/U5 Program Update
What's Happening:
Our U7 and below programming will be launched as our Jr Flyers Program starting 2022/2023
Our planning is in progress, and we would like to share a few sneak peeks:
U7 Jr Flyers:
· Program will run Sat/Sun mornings from October to March 2023
· Program will start with an 8-week hockey development program lead by external hockey development instructor and supported by on on-ice volunteers
· Players will be evaluated and placed on teams for games
· Program will follow the Hockey Canada U7 Pathway and Seasonal Structure
· Year-end showcase/celebration
· Team Jersey/Socks and Team Picture
U4/U5 Jr Flyers Development Program:
· Program will run Sat mornings from October to March 2023
· First 4 weeks of program will include skating development lead by skating program instructor and supported by our on-ice volunteers.
· Second 4 weeks hockey development program lead by external hockey development instructor and supported by our on-ice volunteers.
· Skills and fundamentals are the foundation of the program
· Program will follow the Hockey Canada U7 Pathway and Seasonal Structure
· Year-end showcase/celebration
· Team Jersey/Socks and Team Picture
What’s in the Works:
· We are looking at enhancing our U7 programming with the addition of a “Jr Flyers Additional Development Program” (ADP)
· This program would be offered at a cost over and above the base registration and would be hosted by Orangeville Minor Hockey and run by our U7 program leads.
· Grass Roots Goalie Development Program for all programs. We are actively looking at introducing the position to as many players as possible and ensuring access to equipment needed to grow interest in the position.
