After a tough loss in the opening game of the playoffs the boys were faced with 2 important games this past weekend .............. so how did they do ????

Game details on next page ..................

Playoffs week three vs. Brampton Bears 2-1 victory, This was a very strong team performance, the boys controlled the play for most of the game, we were down 1-0 in the second period when Graham tied it up with Jacob and Adam earning assists, 2 minutes later Owen T made a great play to keep the puck in the offensive zone, he moved the puck down low, seconds later Owen R buried the goal on a one-timer after a perfect pass from Owen V. The defensive pairing of Adam and Jacob had a strong game while Owen D and Trevor continued their steady defensive play. The line of Connor, Joey and Luke also had a very strong game creating several chances and a power play opportunity, Ethan, Johnny, Owen V, Kai and Graydon also pitched in with some great passes and defensive plays. Ted was not tested often but came up with the big saves when needed. Game MVP went to Graydon for his consistent play and hard work.

Playoffs week three vs. Caledon Hawks. 3-2 victory, Caledon came out strong but Ted kept us in the game, after two periods we were up 2-0 with goals from Graham and Owen V, Owen R earned 2 assists. We then ran into penalty trouble tallying 14 minutes in the final half of the game, Caledon quickly tied it up. We were down for a good portion of the third period including 2 men down for almost a full 2 minutes, the boys continued to work hard and respond under heavy pressure, Ted again came up with some big saves. With about 1:30 seconds left Caledon had a power play, Luke intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and threaded the puck between 2 Caledon players to Graham, who made a great play to get around the Caledon goalie and bury the winner with 1:28 to go in the game. This was a true character win by the boys. Luke had a tough game with 2 penalties but was given game MVP for overcoming some personal adversity to help set up the winner. Honourable mentions to Ted and Graham.

Coaches thoughts - I was very proud of how the boys continued to work hard in a very tough game against a strong Caledon team, they could have easily given up after being short for most of the last half of the game but they didn't. It was the type of game that can destroy a teams morale or make them great ............. our boys were great !

This weeks Trivia - What is the name of the super bowl trophy ?
